“Artistic ability is a gift but also requires study, imagination and hard work,” says Anju Saran. Born in India, Anju started displaying her artistic abilities as toddler. As she gained experience, Anju kept on making changes to her painting style and experimenting and learning. She has done the Masters in Fine Arts and have been teaching in New Jersey for over 17 years. Anju is proficient in various mediums such as Oil, Watercolor, Acrylic, Pastel, Mixed Media and Charcoal. She is a versatile and an award winning artist. Art is her passion and she specializes in Portraiture painting and does commissioned work. Anju’s paintings have appeared in numerous exhibitions, and brought her recognition and awards. Her cartoons and illustrations have appeared in Indian newspapers and magazines such as Times of India, Indian Express, Lucknow City Magazine, etc.
Anju’s paintings have appeared in numerous exhibitions in New Jersey, New York, Florida, Singapore and India, and brought her recognition. She has been invited to make presentations / demonstrations of her painting style at various institutions including Art Association in Roxbury (AAR) and Warren County ARTS. She has been a judge at various art competitions including Morris County 4H Fair and NAMI SAMHAJ event. Anju’s cartoons and illustrations have appeared in newspapers and magazines.
Anju owns an art center ‘Artistic Kreations LLC’ (www.ArtisticKreationsNJ.com) in Morris Plains where she teaches drawing and painting to children and adults of all skill levels. She has been teaching painting at Morris County Art Association (MCAA), Morristown for over 14 years. In addition, Anju has run art classes at Littleton School, Lake Parsippany School, Parsippany Library, Lake Hiawatha Library to name a few. She has created her method of teaching art in a way that her students find easy to learn drawing and painting techniques and they love to come back to her for more and more. Anju is also a graphic/web designer and an illustrator for over 20 years and currently commissioning illustrations for a children book.
